Review Detail
2017 Purple Hands Shiraz
Wine Rating
94
A wine for the cellar with the 2017 vintage giving elegance, longevity and an overarching savoury structure; A youthful deep red in the glass with a nose of black cherry and plum with some tar and roses like notes.
The palate is set against a backdrop of drying black fruits with a faint touch of unsweetened licorice; tannins are fine but have an enjoyable earthen flare before expansive plum and blackberry fruit is lifted by some bitter dark chocolate notes to finish.
Double decant if drinking now, and watch out after a couple of years in bottle.
