Review Detail
2017 Castle Rock Estate Shiraz
Wine Rating
92
Rob Diletti is one of the most talented producers in Australia, Castle Rock Estate is not known for Shiraz, however this is an excellent cool climate example of the variety. A medium red in the glass with a nose of pepper, plum and some charcuterie notes that are lifted by vanillin richness.
The plate has expansive dark berry fruits that are carried by a baseline of drying tannin that has coffee and vanillin tones with rhubarb and red cherry alongside a fine dusting of earth framing the finish.
