Review Detail
2017 Blue Pyrenees Estate Section One Shiraz
Wine Rating
94
The wine opens with seductive and rich oak influence that comes from two years in French and American Oak with blueberry, plum and sandalwood spice rounding out the nose. The palate shows more restraint and the impact of a cooler year with a graphite edge to dark plum fruit, tannins are fine but have impact with a subtle tar and roses influence that works well. The finish enjoys spice and vanillin richness, but is awash with dark berry fruits. The length is excellent.
