Review Detail
2016 Octtava Piano Barossa Valley Shiraz
Wine Rating
90
An inky red in the glass, the nose has blood plum with layered spice and understated liquorice and bramble. The palate sees the savoury and bitter liquorice with impact of new oak that is accentuated by pepper and earth before dense black fruits take centre stage. The finish is more about savoury influence and texture with oak leading the fruit. The wine will be sure to evolve over the next decade.
