2008 Teusner Righteous Shiraz
Wine Rating
96
An impenetrable deep red in the glass, the nose shows evidence of the 50% new French oak that was used on the wine, adding a luxurious and rich aroma to the plum and violets fruit.
The palate has a concentration and depth that will be very hard to surpass, with an array of fruits ranging from the sweeter blueberry to savoury plum and dark cherry.
The tannins are the highlight of the mid to back palate, and can almost be described as chewy, the finish has rich oak influences and a length that keeps going long after the last sip.
