2008 Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz
Wine Rating
86
Deep red to purple in colour, the nose is rather closed with raisins and earth on show.
The palate is tight and savoury with blackberry, stems, earth and chocolate. The wine is consistent from front to back palate but is very much on the savoury side of the fruit spectrum.
The finish shows coffee, tar and firm tannins.
The Chalambar will certainly reward time in the cellar, but one that i find hard to approach in it's youth.
