2008 M. Chapoutier Domaine Terlato & Chapoutier Malakoff Shiraz
Wine Rating
95
The nose has a lot going on with plum, cherry, ripe stems , savoury oak and a touch of cinnamon.
The palate continues where the nose left off with dark cherry and savoury plum combining with vibrant acidity and firm but fine tannins. The tannins and acid frame the wine well and underwrite it's cellaring future.
The long finish shows good complexity with spice and dark berry fruit.

Have to agree Peckel,an outstanding first up effort.A wine to watch as I believe only modest quantities are made- we'll see if they only produce in the better years. I rated it a 96 & I reckon I'm pretty stingy with points, but this one rocked me.Cheers Canopus
