Review Detail
2005 Seppelt Silverband Grampians Shiraz
Wine Rating
91
Medium to deep red in colour , the nose shows rustic dark cherry, savoury plum and a touch of licorice.
The wine builds around a core of fine firm tannins and mineral acidity that adds a textural contrast. In terms of fruit there is brooding black cherry and a touch of blackcurrant.
The finish is long and elegant, and will reward long term cellaring.
As with most Seppelt's wine the oak is very much in the background with the fruit expressing a true sense of place.
