2002 Janz Tasmania Premium Vintage Cuvee

A recent tasting providing an opportunity to sample quality Tasmanian fizz more than a decade after vintage, i was intrigued to see if the tell tale Tasmanian acidity would maintain the wines freshness; it did.

The wine is a developed golden yellow in the glass with a persistent bead, the nose has baked apple and brioche notes with background citrus.

The palate is creamy on entry, with chalky acid doing well to cut through the wines richer characters, generous peach and nectarine round out the wine with a little grapefruit keeping everything in line. A very good mature sparkling that is drinking at it’s peak.
