There are a number of great sparkling's identified from Tasmania, and year after year the praise for the Heemskerk sparkling seems to get louder and raise this wine into the same company as Arras, Clover Hill and vintage Janz to name a few.

The 08 release is a youthful expression of what will be a long living sparkling wine, the nose is a complex mix of oyster shell, nectarine, lemon pith and brioche which leads into a savoury palate that is tightly bound around a core of citrus acidity. The more complex secondary characters give a brief cameo, but will be center stage with a few more years in the bottle
