2004 Macedon Ridge Blanc de Blanc
(Updated: December 29, 2013)
Wine Rating

94
Macendon Ridge are producers of premium sparkling wine from the cool climate Macedon region, the vineyard itself was planted in 1985 to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, however it was when the vineyard was purchased in 2001 by the current owners there was a shift towards uncompromisingly good quality sparkling wines.

The 2004 Blanc de Blanc is a golden yellow in colour with a complex nose of ripe nectarine, brioche and almond meal biscuit character.

The wonderfully mature palate gives brioche and white peach with a refreshing line of mineral acidity that keeps the wine balanced. The finish is rich and complex, the 04 release is drinking superbly now and will continue to develop over the short to medium term.
