Blue Pyrenees effectively put the Pyrenees wine region on the map having been established in 1963, the winery produces a number of sparkling wines that following the methode traditionnelle, or bottle ferment method.

A light to straw yellow in the glass, there is a vigorous bead in the glass, the nose shows the toasted richness from time on lees with lifted stone fruit aromatics and a touch of citrus.

There is a nice interplay between taught green apple acidity and baked bread richness that swap in terms of their impact across the palate, initially you are met with brioche before driving acidity pulls things into line and frames the long finish.

It's not often there are sub $30 sparkling that are cellar worthy, this is certainly one of those.
