Review Detail
2012 Leeuwin Estate Brut Pinot Noir Chardonnay
Wine Rating
89
The 2012 release is a 67% / 33% blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The wine shows a light yellow colour in the glass and gives a consistent bead, the nose bristles with oyster shell and citrus with background notes of nectarine.
The palate has a delicate and fine mousse with lively, crunchy green apple acidity, at this point it is very much in the citrus and apple spectrum with a suggestion of brioche richness. The wine finishes with a touch of bitterness that will hopefully be less pronounced as it fills out.
