Review Detail
2007 House of Arras Grand Vintage
Wine Rating
94
Arras Grand Vintage is Australia’s response to Champagne, with the wine aged on lees for 8 years prior to release. The wine is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and showcases pristine Tasmanian fruit.
A lightly golden yellow in the glass with a fine bead, the nose opens with oyster shell, fresh nought, nectarine and fig.
The palate is has a flinty stone fruit richness with wonderfully balanced acidity and background lemon pith, there is drive of nectarine fruit to finish with the only detractor being a grapefruit like astringency that plays a minor part in what is generally a long and complex finish.
