Review Detail
2012 Bass River 1835 Chardonnay Pinot Noir
(Updated: January 06, 2017)
Wine Rating
95
Produced from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the estate fruit, the wine was kept on lees for almost 3 years prior to bottling. It’s a top notch sparkling from a producer that is known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
A light yellow in the glass with a fine bead, the nose gives brioche and lees notes with oyster shell, white peach and touches of lemon zest.
Crunchy citrus acidity is at the wines core with nectarine and flint given a creamy richness but pulled back into line and accentuated by green apple and lemon peel like acidity. Drinking beautiful now and over the next 3 - 6 years.
