Review Detail

2013 Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate Tempranillo
Wine Rating

90
This is a big wine in every sense of the word, American oak (10% new) on the nose gives coconut and caramel undertones that at this point overwhelm dark fruits and olive that are shaded in the background.

The wine shows the same proportions on the palate with dusty red fruits caught in a web of oak, there tannins are well balanced and the plush yet textural mouthfeel benefits from spicy notes however time is required to see if an equilibrium can be matched between oak and fruit as Tempranillo’s secondary characters start to exert themselves.
