Review Detail
2016 Allegiance Wines the Artisan Tempranillo
Wine Rating
90
A light to medium red in the glass, the nose shows stewed red cherry with a touch of rhubarb and earth that is lifted by oak spice.
The palate has attractive and clean strawberry and red cherry fruit and carries it’s 15% alcohol well with a generosity of mouthfeel without being cloying. Gentle spice is a constant across the wine with acidity and tannins providing just enough structure and presence to give contrast and focus to the wine. The finish lingers with red berry fruits and briar.
A wine that will be most enjoyable in it’s youth.
