Review Detail
2009 Gabriel Meffre Laurus Condrieu
Wine Rating
90
A light yellow in colour with honeyed lanolin and underripe apricot on the nose.
There is a plush character on entry with textural astringency across the journey that juxtaposes the wines softer elements. Oak adds a little spice and richness, but the wine has an overarching savoury character to finish that keeps you looking for more, with time in the glass as the wine warms up and does get richer and waxier.
Best consumed over the next year or two.
