2015 Condie Estate The Naked Run Viognier
Wine Rating

91
Condie Estate continues to grow year by year, with the wines showing consistent varietal characters and a touch of class. This Viognier had a non-traditional upbringing, coming from two vineyards with a wild yeast ferment and some french oak thrown into the mix. The resultant wine is pretty and floral with more than enough funk to keep things interesting.

A straw yellow in the glass, the nose gives floral notes that are backed by rosewater and lychee. The palate has good weight and texture, with enough crunchy and grippy acidity to frame the understated apricot and smoked spice that frames the palate. Will evolve over the short to medium term.
