Review Detail
2016 d’Arenberg The Hermit Crab Viognier Marsanne
Wine Rating
89
A light golden hue in the glass, the nose gives a heady mix of apricot, baked pineapple and pickled ginger that’s both punchy and exotic.
The wine has generous mouthfeel with a continuation of the apricot and tropical fruits on the nose, the inclusion of a small proportion of Marsanne shows itself on the mid to back palate with a drying, savoury lanolin like notes. The finish sees ginger infused apricot combining with citrus fruits.
At $15 retail you really can’t go wrong.
